In these unprecedented times, we are greatly concerned about the health and safety of our employees and customers and are following all recommendations and guidelines stated by the W.H.O. We have taken all neccessary measures in ensuring that strict sanitisation has been enforced for all of our orders in every department. We continue to deliver with TTPost, however, delivery times may take longer than usual as we operating shorter working hours with limited staff. All orders will include 3 individually wrapped lens wipes containing an alcohol-based cleaner. Please use these to disinfect the frames, lenses and lens case. Who are we?
BEAM by London is Trinidad & Tobago's first online optical store providing premium spectacle frames and prescription lenses. Our eyeglasses are all handmade and eco-friendly too!
Where are your frames made?
All of our frames are proudly made in China. Don’t be fooled, China has some of the best frame makers in the world and most of your big fashion brands (we won’t mention who!) also manufacture their spectacles in China. We have hand selected the finest craftsmanship and ensure we do not compromise on quality in any way. We promise to only use the finest eco-friendly materials for our frames and put each pair through a 3-step quality control check before approving. What is your return policy?
We want you to be 100% happy with your new spectacles. We hope to find a solution for any of your concerns and will always do our best to help. If for any reason, you are unsatisfied with your purchase, BEAM by London are happy to refund you within 14 days of your purchase. Please note, refunds are only authorised once the item is returned to us in its original condition and cost of return postage is the responsibility of the customer.
Why do I need to book an appointment?
We understand how difficult it can be to shop online, especially for eyewear and getting the perfect fit is important in finding the most comfortable frame. We can arrange for a qualified dispensing optician to visit you at your home or office to showcase the collection and help you find the perfect pair. We can also discuss your prescription and recommened the best lenses for you. Terms and conditions: For prescription lens orders, you must have a current valid prescription available from your optometrist.
Payment is taken in full on the day of your visit via credit card which must be authorised to make online payments. We do not accept cash or linx payments.
We are PPE compliant, please be prepared to wear a mask and gloves during our visit.
How do I know what the right size is for me?
Here is a basic fit guide to get you started.
Eyesize – the width of each lens
Bridge size – the width of the bridge which fits across your nose
Temple length – the length of the temple which goes behind your ears
Understandably, it can be quite difficult to get a real feel of a frame until you have tried them on.
If you need any help or advice on frame fitting, send us a message and we can assist you in selecting the right frame. You can even send us a selfie and a brief bio and we can recommend the best shapes and styles for your face shape. Include information such as hobbies, lifestyle and your desired look so we can find the perfect frame.
How do you deliver?
We only use special delivery using DHL (US), Royal Mail (UK) and TTPost (Trinidad and Tobago) to ensure your package arrives safely. Providing a contact number is vital so the courier can contact you if they have any trouble finding your address and exact location. Your delivery is also tracked, so you know exactly where it is and when it will arrive.
How do you use the virtual mirror?
The Virtual Mirror tool is really simple to use and gives you the opportunity to try on any frame virtually. It is important to adjust the pupil distance measurement before trying on the frames to give you the most accurate results of frame fit. If you are not sure what your pupil distance measurement is, see below for a guide on how to measure your pupil distance. You can then upload a selfie similar to a passport photo if possible, or go live on webcam. You can switch between styles, colours and shapes and add your favourites to a shortlist to compare later on. We hope this makes your frame selection process easier!
What is the pupil distance measurement?
Quite simply, the pupil distance is the distance in millimetres between the pupil centres of each eye. Your optometrist will usually provide this information to you with your prescription but if not, don't worry as it is easy to measure by yourself or with the help of a friend. Rest a millimetre ruler onto the bridge of your nose, look in the mirror or have a friend align the 0 mark at the centre of your right pupil. Measure the distance to the centre of your left pupil. Make sure you are have a steady focus and are atleast 50cm from your mirror or friend. Take the measurement 2-3 times to ensure it is accurate.
